Our Woods Need Your Help!
We are actively cleaning up the forest floor to promote new native plant growth and to encourage native wildlife to return to the Hungerford woods. To do this, we are clearing out invasive plant species, brush and downed trees. We need help to do this throughout our 30 acres. This is a great way to get outside and to
reconnect with nature. We would love to hear from you if you are interested or if you have any questions. Even if you can’t come out that day, you can still help by spreading the word. Please share.
Visit us today at our two sites. The Youth Museum, located behind the New Britain Public Library, is a fun, interactive space that offers programs on culture and arts for children and young adults.
The Hungerford Nature Center in Kensington is home to many domestic animals and native wild birds. There is a farm-yard, indoor exhibits, walking trails, and a picnic and play area.
