
Weekly classes are held throughout the school year exploring seasonal changes, animals, holidays and nature. Classes are designed for the young preschooler with an accompanying adult. This program encourages exploration, thinking and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. Parts of some classes will be held outdoors. Class size is limited to 6 adult/child pairs, and because the classroom area is limited, siblings, who are not registered, must be kept in a carrier or stroller. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Enrollment is on first come, first served basis.

The leaves are changing color; the air’s getting cooler...autumn is here! We’ll visit with animal friends, do crafts and explore our nature center in this first session of the school year. (6 weeks).

Join us in celebrating the arrival of the holidays! We’ll visit with animals, make some holiday crafts and take walks to investigate the outdoors. No class on Veteran’s Day November 11th and Thanksgiving Day. (5 weeks)

This program is designed for the budding scientist. We’ll explore our woods, discover our live animal collection and do some crafting and cooking. Each session during the school year will feature a different theme. Class size is limited to ten students and pre-registration and pre-payment is required.

Fall is almost here. Find out what is happening in the world of nature. Why are the leaves changing color? What are animals doing now the weather is getting cooler? Find out the answers to these questions by meeting and learning about our animals and by going for walks along our trails. Crafts and cooking included in the fun. (6 weeks).

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING – November 2 – December 14
The weather is getting colder and day light hours are getting shorter. The holidays must be coming! Find out how people that live far away places celebrate the holidays and do some cooking, too. (6 weeks—no class week of Thanksgiving).

Our ongoing program for 3-5 year olds gives children the opportunity for discovery in a familiar setting. This program is designed for continuity of children and instructor and allows you to plan your calendar for the year. Class size is limited to 10, and pre-registration and pre-payment is required. We will cook apples, make leaf prints, go for trail walks, collect acorns and pinecones and watch the leaves change color! We will visit with our animals, too (6 weeks)

Holidays Around the World November 3 - December 15
Celebrate the holidays with us as we go through this joyful time of year. We’ll learn about the customs of long ago as well as customs from different places in the world. We’ll cook, do crafts, make gifts and learn about animals from around the world. (6 weeks – no class week of Thanksgiving).

Our after school class investigates the natural world throughout the seasons. During this time together, we’ll learn about our live animals, take walks and do crafts. Experiments and cooking will round out the fun. Classes meet Wednesdays throughout the school year. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.

We’ll be going for walks in our woods to find out how plants and animals prepare for the
winter. We’ll meet some of our animal residents, also. Crafts included in the fun. (6 weeks)

A program for 3rd and 4th grade children who are interested in science. Sessions will deal with chemistry, physics, botany and zoology. We’ll present problems and give students ways to discover answers. Areas of investigation will be animals, plants, weather and basic chemistry. This class is especially designed for those who have previously attended our Nature Discovery program. All classes will meet Thursdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m. This program will run throughout the school year. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.

In our first session of the school year, we’ll learn about what makes the weather and ways to measure it. We’ll spend a lot of time outdoors during this session. (6 weeks)

In addition to learning about the principles of chemistry, we’ll enjoy some holiday crafts and nature walks, weather permitting. No class on Veteran’s Day, November 11th or Thanksgiving. (5 weeks).
